Combining a laser, ultrasound, and tilt sensor, this precision instrument provides accurate and reliable distance, height, and angle measurements. Use the laser or ultrasound alone as a rangefinder or in combination with the tilt sensor to measure heights and angles. To achieve more accurate distance results at shorter distances, even through thick vegetation, use the ultrasonic feature along with the transponder. Ultrasonic measurement provides results in meters or feet and allows measurements to be obtained even when a clear line of sight to the target is not available. The Vertex Laser 5 is Bluetooth®-capable and also features a reverse prism function (BAF feature) which has built-in prism factors of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 (English) and 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0 (Metric). The laser function allows you to work without a transponder and take measurements at longer distances in meters or feet. When using the laser, the transponder can be used as a visible reference point.
